Where do you find the sacred in your life?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 07, 2009:

The sacred in my life isn't found very often, or very easily.  I have to search for it and hope for it.  But it doesn't come when I want it to.  It comes in moments I didn't plan.  Like sharing ice cream with my friend at a snowy band competition.  Or going outside in shorts and a tank top to play in the snow.

What lifts your spirits?

Music.  I love music more than most things, and I can't imagine what I would do without it.  Art can express so much that words would just sound meaningless when used.

What song or poem or work of art best captures your mood?

Posted on Dec 23rd, 2008 by Jenna
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 23, 2008:

There was a piece of art done by some of the students in our school that hung in the library.  It showed five people, and each person had five or so pictures.  Each of the pictures showed the person doing something different.  The one that really caught my eye was in the corner, sort of hidden.  I don't know who the boy was , and it really doesn't matter.  The point is, each of his pictures was completely different from the next, in seemingly random order.  In one he was in a football jersey playing a game, the next in the ceramics room building this humongous sculpture, and the third he was playing with a little girl.  I'm afraid I don't remember all the pictures that were there, and so I am unable to describe them.  The pictures themselves aren't really important either though. The boy was able to pursue such different things, and yet here on this paper he connected them.  It touched me because I myself do a variety of things, and the people involved in them don't understand how I can do all of them.  They think it odd that I could love them all equallly, but in different way.  My mood is always subject to change, just as the pictures change from one to the next, with each activity comes a different mood, and different view..
